Fontainebleau, France February 21 - 22, 1998

This weekend trip was undertaken by car with my brother, Jack. We left for Dover late on Friday night and returned to Calais on Sunday afternoon. We did not bother with accommodation and simply slept in the car.

Weather
Bright and sunny on morning of 21st but heavy rain at midday followed by drizzle. Very heavy overnight rain but a sunny morning on 22nd.

Places Visited
All birding was undertaken in the forest itself. The Fôret De Fontainebleau is a large deciduous forest about 50km south-east of Paris. Fontainebleau town itself is at the center of the forest. The best birding area is illustrated on the map.
